At Potbelly, choosing the sandwich name is only the first step.

A Wreck, Italian, Turkey Breast, Avo Turkey, Chicken Club, Cubano, or another toasted sandwich can have very different nutrition depending on whether you order it as an Original, BIGS, Skinny, wrap, or another available format .

Then toppings, avocado, cheese, sauces, soup, Mac & Cheese, chips, cookies, or a hand-dipped shake can change the complete meal again.

Use the Potbelly Nutrition Calculator above to match the exact sandwich format and build the order you actually eat.

Choose the Potbelly Size Before Comparing Sandwiches

Potbelly does not use a simple Small, Medium and Large system for its signature sandwiches.

Its established sandwich formats include:

Original

BIGS

Skinny

Potbelly describes the Original as its regular sandwich size. BIGS uses a larger portion, while Skinny sandwiches use less meat and cheese and a reduced bread format.

The nutrition difference can be substantial.

Always select the format before relying on a calorie number.

A Wreck Shows Why the Format Matters

A Wreck is one of Potbelly's signature sandwiches, made with turkey, ham, roast beef, salami and Swiss.

Current available nutrition data lists approximately:

A Wreck Format

Calories

Protein

Carbs

Fat

Skinny

440

27g

47g

17g

Original

650

42g

65g

28g

BIGS

930

59g

95g

39g

The sandwich recipe is recognizable in all three cases, but they are clearly not the same serving.

A page that displays only A Wreck, 650 calories therefore answers only the Original-size question.

BIGS Is More Than a Different Label

Potbelly has historically described BIGS as approximately 30% bigger than its regular sandwich format.

That larger serving generally means more:

Bread

Meat

Cheese

and other recipe components.

Do not create BIGS nutrition by blindly multiplying the Original calories by 1.3. Use the published BIGS record because ingredients do not necessarily scale in a perfectly uniform way.

Skinny Needs Its Own Published Nutrition

A Skinny sandwich is not simply half an Original sandwich.

Potbelly describes Skinnys as using less meat and cheese and a reduced bread format.

For example:

A Wreck Original: about 650 calories

while:

A Wreck Skinny: about 440 calories.

The protein, carbohydrates, fat and sodium all change as well.

Use the actual Skinny record instead of mathematically shrinking the Original sandwich.

Original Is the Best Default Only When You Ordered Original

Current NutritionSolver data correctly uses Originals as the serving context for many sandwiches.

For example, its current A Wreck record contains approximately:

650 calories

42g protein

65g carbohydrates

28g fat

1,730mg sodium .

That closely matches current nutrition databases carrying Potbelly's newer nutrition values.

The problem is not that the Original value is necessarily wrong.

The problem is that Original is currently the only sandwich size represented on the NutritionSolver page .

Bread Choice Is Part of the Sandwich

Potbelly sandwiches are built on its signature breads, including regular and multigrain bread options.

Changing the bread can change:

Calories

Carbohydrates

Fiber

Sodium

and the finished serving weight.

If the customer changes bread, NutritionSolver should calculate the bread modification rather than continuing to display the unchanged standard sandwich total.

Toasting Does Not Create a Second Sandwich

Potbelly is known for oven-toasted sandwiches.

Toasting itself should not produce a duplicate nutrition record unless a recipe ingredient changes.

The useful distinctions are:

Sandwich

Size

Bread

Recipe

Custom toppings and sauces

rather than:

Toasted A Wreck

and:

Non-Toasted A Wreck

as independent menu items.

Wraps Need Their Own Serving Format

Current Potbelly ordering menus include a dedicated Wraps category, and some locations explicitly allow customers to turn sandwiches into wraps.

A wrap is not the same as an Original sandwich.

For example, current available nutrition data lists an A Wreck Wrap at roughly:

570 calories

49g protein

34g carbohydrates

33g fat .

NutritionSolver should therefore treat:

A Wreck Original

A Wreck BIGS

A Wreck Skinny

and:

A Wreck Wrap

as connected variants of the same sandwich rather than unrelated foods.

Avo Turkey Shows the Same Format Pattern

The current Avo Turkey Original in NutritionSolver contains approximately:

640 calories

46g protein

73g carbohydrates

24g fat .

Current broader nutrition data also publishes approximately:

Avo Turkey Skinny: 410 calories

Avo Turkey BIGS: 930 calories.

That is a 520-calorie difference between the Skinny and BIGS versions of the same named sandwich.

Size should therefore be a first-class calculator field.

Avocado Should Be Treated as a Real Customization

Potbelly uses avocado in products such as Avo Turkey and other current recipes.

Current available component data places a standard Original-size avocado addition at approximately 120 calories , with a larger BIGS portion around 180 calories .

That makes avocado a meaningful addition, not a negligible vegetable garnish.

If avocado is already included in the named recipe, do not add it twice.

Potbelly's Hot Peppers Are a Brand-Specific Customization

Potbelly specifically highlights its proprietary Hot Peppers as one of its sandwich customization options.

A good Potbelly calculator should therefore keep toppings such as:

Hot Peppers

Pickles

Onions

Tomato

Lettuce

Avocado

Cheese

and current sauces

available as recipe modifications where verified component nutrition exists.

That produces a much more useful result than one fixed sandwich card.

Potbelly Added New Signature Sauces

Potbelly reported a major menu refresh that added:

Hot Pepper Ranch

Sweet Heat BBQ

Roasted Garlic Aioli

Red Wine Vinegar

alongside new sandwich recipes.

These sauces should not remain invisible in a nutrition calculator.

A user who adds Hot Pepper Ranch to A Wreck or Sweet Heat BBQ to Chicken Club may receive a different nutrition total from the standard sandwich.

Cubano Is Now Part of the Established Menu

Potbelly added the Cubano as part of its November 2024 menu update, using slow-cooked pulled pork as a new protein.

Current NutritionSolver already lists the Cubano Original at approximately:

800 calories

46g protein

64g carbohydrates

38g fat

2,160mg sodium .

This is useful current coverage.

It should also gain BIGS, Skinny, and other available format variants where Potbelly supports them.

Sweet Heat Pork BBQ Is Another Important Current Sandwich

The same Potbelly menu refresh introduced Sweet Heat BBQ Pork.

NutritionSolver currently has the Original at approximately:

950 calories

48g protein

77g carbohydrates

48g fat

1,560mg sodium .

Again, the Original record is useful, but the full size and customization architecture is missing.

Prime Rib Steak Needs Its Current Recipe Context

Current Potbelly ordering menus feature Prime Rib Steak , made with sliced prime rib steak, Swiss, caramelized onions and garlic aioli.

NutritionSolver currently lists the Original serving at approximately:

880 calories

38g protein

67g carbohydrates

55g fat

1,420mg sodium .

The garlic aioli and onions are part of the named standard recipe.

Do not add them again unless the customer orders extra.

Fiery Island Chicken Is the Current Seasonal Sandwich

Potbelly launched Fiery Island Chicken on June 22, 2026.

It combines grilled chicken, Provolone, fiery jerk sauce and fresh avocado.

Current ordering menus still show the sandwich, and NutritionSolver currently contains the Original at approximately:

720 calories

52g protein

83g carbohydrates

23g fat

1,870mg sodium .

This should be clearly labeled:

Current Limited-Time / Summer 2026

rather than mixed permanently with core sandwiches.

Street Corn Chicken Should No Longer Look Current

Potbelly introduced Street Corn Chicken on March 30, 2026, but announced that it would be available only through May 3, 2026 or while supplies lasted .

NutritionSolver still lists:

Street Corn Chicken, Original: 750 calories .

As of August 8, 2026, that should not remain in the normal current sandwich list.

Move it to:

Historical / Previous Limited-Time

unless a specific restaurant still confirms availability.

Underground Sandwiches Need a Different Status

Potbelly also has a long-running Underground Menu.

Company disclosures specifically identify examples such as:

Wrecking Ball

Lucky Seven

and:

Cheeseburger-style Meatball variation .

NutritionSolver currently includes Wrecking Ball and Lucky 7 among ordinary Originals.

These should instead appear under:

Underground Menu

because a user should know they are not standard headline menu items.

Pick-your-Pair Should Be a Core Calculator Mode

Current Potbelly ordering menus include a dedicated Pick-your-Pair section.

This is one of the most important missing features on the NutritionSolver page.

The user should be able to choose:

Half or eligible sandwich portion

plus:

Cup of soup

Mac & Cheese

or another eligible pair item.

There is no useful universal calorie number for a Pick-your-Pair.

The two selected components determine the total.

Soups Need Cup and Bowl Labels

Potbelly sells soups in different portions.

Current broader nutrition data, for example, distinguishes:

Chicken Pot Pie Soup, Cup: approximately 280 calories

Chicken Pot Pie Soup, Bowl: approximately 420 calories.

NutritionSolver currently shows only:

Chicken Pot Pie Soup, 422 calories

without telling the user that the number is effectively the larger serving.

The serving should be part of the name.

Broccoli Cheddar Needs the Same Serving Treatment

NutritionSolver currently lists Broccoli Cheddar Soup at approximately:

233 calories

with no visible Cup or Bowl context.

A soup number without a serving label is incomplete.

Every soup record should explicitly say:

Cup

or:

Bowl .

This becomes especially important inside Pick-your-Pair meals.

Mac & Cheese Also Needs Size Context

Current NutritionSolver lists Mac & Cheese at approximately:

297 calories

10g protein

28g carbohydrates

15g fat

850mg sodium .

But current Potbelly ordering menus treat Mac & Cheese as a category item with selectable portions.

NutritionSolver should publish the actual serving label rather than generic 1 serving .

Salads Need Full and Half Portions

Potbelly's established menu includes signature salads such as:

Uptown Salad

Farmhouse Salad

Chicken Salad Salad

A Wreck Salad

and other current recipes.

Current available nutrition data publishes both Full Size and Half Size salad records. For example:

A Wreck Salad: approximately 370 calories

A Wreck Salad, Half: approximately 250 calories.

NutritionSolver currently displays salads as only one undifferentiated serving.

Half and Full should become separate selectable portions.

Dressing Needs the Same Half-or-Full Logic

Potbelly salads can use dressings such as:

Potbelly Vinaigrette

Balsamic Vinaigrette

Buttermilk Ranch

and other current choices.

If the dressing is published separately, the correct quantity should follow the salad size.

A Half salad should not automatically receive the nutrition of a Full-size dressing portion.

Hand-Dipped Shakes Are a Major Missing Part of the Brand

Potbelly is strongly associated with hand-dipped shakes.

Current company descriptions continue to identify shakes alongside toasted sandwiches, salads and fresh-baked cookies as core menu offerings.

Current ordering menus also have an entire:

Cookies + Shakes

section.

A Potbelly nutrition page that contains no actual shake records is therefore incomplete.

Shake Flavor Needs Its Own Nutrition

Established Potbelly shake flavors include options such as:

Vanilla

Chocolate

Strawberry

Coffee

OREO .

A shake should be selected by:

flavor + size + additions

rather than assigning every hand-dipped shake one generic number.

Mix-ins and second flavors should also be treated as additions when published nutrition supports them.

Cookies Should Remain Flavor-Specific

NutritionSolver currently includes:

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookie: 420 calories

Sugar Cookie: 520 calories

Chocolate Brownie Cookie: 420 calories .

These are separate recipes, so keeping them as individual records is appropriate.

But cookies should sit alongside the missing shakes, Dream Bar and other current dessert options rather than representing the entire Cookies & Shakes category.

Breakfast Is Available Only at Some Shops

Potbelly says breakfast is offered at locations with sufficient early-morning demand rather than universally across every shop.

Established breakfast choices include:

Egg & Cheddar

Bacon, Egg & Cheddar

Sausage, Egg & Cheddar

Ham, Mushroom, Egg & Swiss

plus oatmeal and other breakfast items at participating locations.

NutritionSolver should therefore label:

Breakfast, Select Locations

instead of mixing breakfast sandwiches into the normal all-day sandwich list.

Breakfast Sandwiches Should Not Be Classified as Ordinary Originals

NutritionSolver currently places:

Bacon, Egg & Cheddar

Sausage, Egg & Cheddar

Ham, Mushroom, Egg & Swiss

inside Sandwiches - Originals .

They are breakfast items.

Moving them to a separate Breakfast category will make both search and restaurant navigation clearer.

Sodium Is Especially Important for Toasted Deli Sandwiches

Many Potbelly sandwiches contain deli meats, cheese, bread, condiments and sauces.

For example, current NutritionSolver values show approximately:

A Wreck Original: 1,730mg sodium

Italian Original: 2,210mg

Lucky 7 Original: 3,450mg.

That means calorie and protein filters alone are not enough for a useful sandwich comparison.

Keep sodium visible beside macros.

Build the Potbelly Meal Around the Serving Format

Start with the exact sandwich, wrap, salad, soup, Mac & Cheese, or breakfast item .

For sandwiches, choose:

Skinny → Original → BIGS

before changing bread, toppings, cheese or sauces.

For salads, select:

Half → Full

and add the correct dressing portion.

For soups and Mac & Cheese, choose the actual serving size.

For Pick-your-Pair , calculate both selected items together.

Finally, include any chips, side, cookie, shake, bottled drink or fountain beverage that is part of your order.

At Potbelly, identifying the serving format first is the simplest way to prevent one sandwich name from being mistaken for several very different nutrition totals.
