Vitamin A supports vision, immune function and normal cell development. Sweet potatoes, carrots, leafy greens, eggs and liver are useful sources.

Vitamin B6 contributes to amino-acid metabolism, blood formation and nervous-system function. Chickpeas, fish, chicken, potatoes and bananas provide it.

Vitamin B12 is essential for red blood cells and neurological function and is naturally concentrated in fish, meat, eggs and dairy. People following fully vegan diets need reliable fortified foods or supplementation.

Vitamin C supports collagen formation, antioxidant systems and iron absorption. Bell peppers, guava, kiwi, strawberries, citrus fruit and broccoli are excellent sources.

Vitamin D supports calcium absorption and bone and muscle health. Fatty fish are among the strongest natural food sources, while fortified foods can be particularly important.

Vitamin E helps protect cells from oxidative damage and is found in almonds, sunflower seeds, oils, peanuts and avocado.

Vitamin K supports normal blood clotting and bone-related proteins. Leafy greens such as kale and spinach are exceptionally rich sources.

Folate supports DNA formation and normal cell division. Lentils, beans, leafy greens, asparagus and avocado are excellent foods for increasing intake.

The simplest strategy is not to chase individual “superfoods.”

vegetables + fruit + legumes + whole grains + nuts and seeds + quality protein foods + appropriate fortified foods.
